How to Prepare for a Portrait:

The first thing to consider is your personal grooming. Aside from looking your best with well-styled hair, the way you dress will characterize you in the portrait.

In either formal or casual dress, coordinate your choices from head to toe. Even shoes need to look good in full-length shots! Wear classic & timeless clothes with solid colors, avoiding patterns or stripes. Wear long sleeves, as un-sleeved arms can also be extremely distracting.

In groups of 2 or 20, the main thing is to look unified! Coordinating a group of 20 people can be very difficult, but also very gratifying. If you cannot all wear the same kind of clothes, at least try for all casual or all formal. The idea is to minimize the impact of the clothing in the portraits so you, as the subjects, are emphasized.

Please take the time to consider how you want the portrait to look, and dress appropriately. These are the tips that help make your portrait for meaningful for you. In order to serve you better, we ask that you make an appointment for all studio visits. Proofs are available for viewing via multimedia presentation in as little as 10 minutes following your session. Internet proofing and ordering is also now available.

About Our Portrait Finishes:

Standard portraits are custom crafted and unfinished. As they do not include retouching
and surface alterations, they are available
at the best pricing.

Premium portraits are custom crafted and retouched for flaws. Some digital effects may be involved. Some enhancements may have an additional cost. Then the print is laminated or sprayed for glare reduction and texture.
The additional service does require a more substantial service time.

Watercolor prints are prepared with fine art inks and bordered for a painterly effect. Made 11x14 and larger for high key images, some images are not suitable, so make sure we discuss your
wishes, if your favor is for watercolor.
These prints are delicate and therefore demand
premium framing as well.

Painting is a digital effect that renders the portrait as a painting, with a brush stroke look. With photoshop, the selected image areas are subdued and enhanced for an art effect. The effect is more effective with location portraits or studio close ups. Browse the studio portfolios for ideas.
